Oh, that's HOT!

As the holiday festivities and the long weekend came to an end, I thought I’d relax a little and spend some quiet time at home yesterday. Well, perhaps I just didn’t want to venture out into the 17 degree temperature with gusting winds up to 22 mph! So, I put on my cozy cashmere leggings by “Not Shy” (click here) and my oldest, softest sweatshirt and planted myself on the couch. I allowed myself one day to hibernate since I have been true to my resolution to floss and I’ve held myself to only two snooze button slams. I also made my own coffee again today, so it seems as though I’m kicking the Starbuck’s habit too! That got me thinking about exotic hot drinks for the winter season. I wanted to share a few recipes… stay warm!

HOT TOTTIE:
Ingredients:
• 3/4 cup black tea
• shot of whiskey

• teaspoon of honey
• cinnamon stick
Preparation:
Microwave black tea until hot and allow it to steep for a little less than normal. Add honey and lemon, stir with cinnamon stick. Add whiskey and stir again.

IRISH COFFEE:
Ingredients:
• 1 cup hot coffee
• 1 1/2 oz Irish whisky
• 1 tbsp sugar
Preparation:
Mix together in a mug and top with whipped cream, if desired.

CAJUN COFFEE:
Ingredients:
• 3 cups hot coffee
• 6 tbsp molasses
• 6 tbsp dark rum
• Whipped cream
Preparation:
Heat coffee and molasses in a saucepan until the molasses dissolve. Put 1 tbsp of rum in each mug and pour coffee over. Top with whipped cream.

CHOCOLATE KIEV:

• 1 oz hot cocoa mix
• 4 oz hot milk
• 1 oz vanilla vodka
• 3/4 oz Amaretto
